Day 2 was a success as well. I wasn't so sure it was going to be. I really did not want to do that 30 minutes of exercise! I finally got out my 21 day fix total body cardio dvd out and did it at about 7:30 at night. After I did it I felt really good about the day. I had eaten great all day and after getting the exercise in I was so happy! I know it is only two days complete but it has been a long time since I have accomplished two complete days. I feel better already. Not sure if I really am feeling better or if the feeling of accomplishing it is what is making me feel better. I am not sure it matters. My husband had to work late last night at a shut down so I was not able to have pictures taken but he is going to do them tonight for me. I am scared to post them! But I must do that so I will know where I started at!
My food is planned out for the day. It is packed up in my bag and ready to head out to work. Just stay out of the cafeteria and I will be good!
I am off to start my day.

Day 2
Day 1 was a success! I made it through the entire day. I had a few hard spots, like wanting to eat a nice hamburger when we went out to eat. I opted for a chicken salad. It actually was very good. I would of loved to of had a glass of wine with that also but I had water instead. Breakfast was hard boiled eggs and fruit salad that I made. I had a 3 ounce chicken breast and potato for lunch. I had some hummus and celery and carrots for snacks. Tonight I will be having my before pictures taken. That is a little bit scary but necessary for me to see the progress.
This morning I have my food all packed for the day and I am ready to head out to work. I am going to get my workout in as soon as I get home from work so that I get it done before I can talk myself out of it!

So I know this challenge says 7 days but we are doing it for 30. Today is day 1. I have my food planned for today. I will sit down today and plan my meals for the next 30 days. I will have to go shopping today to get the rest of my food for this week.
I weighed myself this morning, 179.4. I am hoping for a 8 pound loss this month. 2 pounds per week is what I am told is a safe weight loss.
I am removing facebook from my phone. If I meet my goals for the day, I will be able to access facebook from my laptop. If I don't I will not be on facebook that day. But I will post in here. If I don't make my goal for the day my post will probably be nice and short! LOL!
I am going to go to Dicks Sporting Goods and buy myself a fitbit today. I will make sure to get in the 10,000 steps per day. But I will be doing 30 minutes of exercise a day, elliptical, 21 day fix video, something, not just the steps. I will also get some before pictures on here and I will post ones for each month after until I reach my goal. Total amount of weight loss is undetermined at this time. I just want to feel better and be healthy again.
I know I have tried this many times. This time I have a plan in place that is for the full 30 days. My mind is in a better place now. I feel confidant that I can achieve this!
So here's to feeling great and living a healthier life!

Well again I find myself back at my blog. Sometimes I think about it and just wander back to it. I wonder how I got so far away from it......Odd since I loved writing in here each day. How did life get so busy? It seems that with all the kids grown and in houses of their own I would have way more time now to do this? Yes life is odd.
I have obviously totally recovered from my hip replacement, since it has been well over a year. I still have committed to nothing in regards to losing weight. It continues to climb.....I hate that,
I wish I could figure out the button to hit that would make it all come together to be able to commit.
In the meantime I just keep trying again and again and again.

Well here I am back again. It has been a little bit of a rough few weeks. This surgery is by far the most taxing one I have ever had. The pain has not been the worst part. The pain really is not bad unless I over do it. The worst part of it is how worn out and tired I get. I hate being so worn out. I have progressed a lot though. I am no longer using a walker. I am now able to use just the cane. I can walk without it but I limp when I don't use it and they don't want me to get in the habit of limping. I am able to drive now also. I go to physical therapy 3 times a week. I am not real fond of the scar but it is better than the pain I was in.
I have been researching some alternative/natural methods of relieving inflammation and arthritis pain. There are lots of foods that are naturally good for that. I am going to incorporate those into my diet more. Also ginger and turmeric are very good too. I have found several recipes to get these added to my diet as well.
I also know that I need to lose weight, quite a bit of it actually so I will be working on that as well. I have already lost 7 pounds since the surgery but that is because I do not have that large of an appetite not because I have been trying. I think it may be easier for me this time, to lose weight, since I am doing this to feel better and get healthy not to be skinny and have an impressive body!
I don't know if I will ever be able to run again but there are a lot of other exercise I can do. I think I will start with yoga and Pilates. I am looking forward to it!
I will be posting here as often as I can so I can keep track of how I am doing. Keep myself on track.

So here I am back again already! I have really forgotten how to post cute pictures and things in here but I will figure it out again I am sure!
I honestly was totally shocked when the dr told me I needed a hip replacement. My hip (or so I thought) never hurt. I thought I had an inner groin pull. A year and a half ago is around the time I first noticed it. Being a runner for most of my life I did all the things I would do for any other pulled muscle. Rest, ice, heat......It would appear to be better and I would start walking/running again. Within a few weeks it would be bothering me again. Four months ago it was hurting to the point where I knew I needed to see a dr but then I got a new job in a new hospital.......and I lived with it. Two months ago I was unable to live with the pain, went to primary care dr who did X-rays and said you need to see an Ortho dr. Well xrays showed bone on bone and surgery was needed.
I am so thankful that my new employer is so wonderful and told me to get it done asap and Come back soon! Makes me want to get better quickly and go back!
So that is exactly what I am doing. Also gathering recipes and workouts that I will be able to do now and in the future.
Well bedtime. More tomorrow

Well it has been almost a year since I have posted. That is a long time and things sure have changed!
The biggest change in the last week is I had a total hip replacement. Right side. Now I know, this is not near death experience but it sure has been a life changing event for me. I know that the time has come to make some serious changes in my lifestyle. Unless of course I would prefer to live the rest of my life with constant pains and aches.....yea I do not want to do that. So tomorrow will be one week post op. I went home the day after surgery because I was doing so well. I have had in home physical therapy twice. I will have one more this week and then I will start 3 times a week outpatient therapy.
I am going to use this blog to keep me on track to a healthier lifestyle. And to document all the fun (insert sarcasm) that finding out about this problem and having it fixed has been.
